You are responsible for Canadian duties and taxes. MYTRECO, collects your duties and taxes on imported goods and in turn pays the CBSA (Canadian Border Services Agency). The CBSA collects duties and taxes on behalf of the Government of Canada. The duty is a duty payable on goods imported into Canada. The duty rates are set by the Department of Finance Canada and may vary considerably from product to product. These duties and taxes will apply strictly to products imported for personal use by Canadian citizens and residents of Canada. If the item you are importing is for personal use and is marked "made in Canada, the United States or Mexico", you do not have to pay duty on these products because of the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA). Please note that the cost of duties and taxes due depends on the product’s place of manufacture and not on the place where it was purchased. Duties vary considerably depending on the product and the country in which it was manufactured. As for the forwarding of packages by other carriers, you must pay them upon receiving your package.
We calculate the fees due based on the value of the goods in Canadian dollars. The duty rates vary depending on the type of goods you are importing and their country of origin or manufacture. Depending on the product or its value, other taxes may be applied, such as excise duties or excise duties on luxury items such as jewelery. . Under the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), duties on various goods imported from the United States and Mexico have been reduced or eliminated. NAFTA rates apply when the goods you are importing are made in the United States or Mexico.
MYTRECO will calculate the Canadian duties and taxes (based on the country of origin and the purchase price of your product) and include them in your quote by email. Once you have approved the quote, you can enter your credit card to pay us. MYTRECO then pays the CBSA. No more surprises when your product is delivered!
